TEDx St. John's
We were so honoured to have been chosen to present at this year's TEDx St. John's: (DIS)Connect - Unconventional Connections. Our presentation was a mix of interview, musical demonstrations and several musical performances. The presentation was entitled: 'Surprising Connections of the Newfoundland Tune". We have had the most incredible reception for our album thus far - thanks to all of you! Our CD Release show was sold-out and was an incredible night of music and stories. We then joined The Once for three wonderful Christmas Concerts at Gower Street United Church. It was such an honour to be part of the show!
On Saturday, January 19th, we will be part of the Folk Arts Society's show 'It Takes Two' - a show comprised of many dynamic duos! This show is not to be missed. For more information, see the Shows section of our website.
Finally, we are so excited and incredibly proud to be able to share the sheet music for all of the tunes on our album! They are available under the Music section of this website. This is the first time that the majority of these tunes have been written down. We hope you enjoy them!
We owe a HUGE thank you to Duane Andrews (www.duaneandrews.ca) who has transcribed them all. If you don't already have his new album with Craig Young, 'Charlie's Boogie', I'd suggest you check it out right away!

CD Release - December 3rd @ Rocket Room, St. John's!
We are so proud to bring our debut CD to you! This record pays homage to the traditional accordion and fiddle music of Newfoundland and Labrador and is dedicated to those players that have passed along their love and enthusiasm for the tunes. We share dance music from all across the province, playing tunes from Cape Broyle to Rigolet and, from Bay de Verde to the Port au Port Peninsula.
To celebrate the album launch, we will be gathering at The Rocket Room, 272 Water St., on Tuesday, December 3rd at 8pm.
We are incredibly honoured to begin the evening with tremendous tall tales and wildly witty stories by the masters of the art of Newfoundland recitation; Dave Penny, Dave Paddon and Kelly Russell.
As we take the stage to play some tunes, we have the absolute privilege to be joined by our incredible musical guests; Duane Andrews (guitar), Billy Sutton (bodhran) and Jason Whelan (bouzouki).
It’ll be some time!
